Monthly Climbers’ Social

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2018

October 2, 2018 – “Circus”!

Climbinggames, competitions, prizes, FREE BEER!, and social time with friends (old and new), it doesn’t get much better than this!

The FIRST TUESDAY of every month, we invite you to be part of the Edgeworks community: meet other climbers, share stories, get tips from our staff, and have fun.

These events are also an opportunity for us to support the awesome work of our friends over at the American Alpine Club and Access Fund by providing discounted day passes to the members of either group. If you’re not already familiar with the work these two organizations do to keep outdoor climbing areas open and conserve the climbing environment we all enjoy, we invite you check them out and get involved.

As always, our Climbers’ Social evenings are FREE! for Edgeworks members.
$10 for AAC and Access Fund members
$18 for everyone else.

Discounted day passes available after 6pm; social and activities begin at 7pm.
Join us for the FUN!

NEXT UP:

October 2, 2018 – “Circus”
Featuring comp-style, non-traditional routes and boulder problems. (No animals will be harmed in the making of this event.)

November 6, 2018 – Blackout Climbing
Yes, we pay our utility bills! But we’re choosing to cut the lights anyway and give climbers the chance to light the walls with headlamps. Not only is it fun, it also provides a great opportunity to test and refine the skills needed if caught climbing late at night.

FREE Beer! For those who are old enough, our monthly Climbers Socials also feature delicious pours from a local brewery. (Ciders and other non-alcoholic drinks also available.)

Fred Beckey was the original American “Dirtbag” climber whose name has evoked mystery, adulation and vitriol since the 1940s. Beckey’s stubborn, singular quest to conquer peaks meant a solitary life on the road, where he left a long trail of scorned climbing partners and lost lovers in his wake.

The groundbreaking life story of this rebel athlete, who inspired generations of climbers to head for the mountains with his monumental first ascents and eloquent books, is told for the first time in this exclusive documentary film.
